Actress Keke Palmer stunned audiences tonight while hosting “Saturday Night Live”. During her opening monologue, Palmer addressed rumors about her.

“There’s some rumors going around, people have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,’ and I wanna set the record straight — I am!” Palmer exclaimed, ripping open a long gray jacket to reveal her growing bump.

“I was trying so hard to keep it on the down-low ’cause I got a lot of stuff going on,” she said. “You know, people kept coming up to me, ‘Congratulations,’ and I’m like, ‘Shh, can y’all stop? I got a liquor sponsorship on the line…..But honestly this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited. Guys, I’m going to be a mom.”

Palmer added: “Even though some people feel a little weird about me having a baby cause I was a child actor, I just wanna say: look, I’m 29, I’m grown. I have sex. I own a home.”

People magazine confirmed that Palmer, 29, is pregnant and expecting her first baby with boyfriend Darius Daulton. If you were unaware of the relationship, you’re not alone. (The author just found out tonight!) In an appearance on “The Tamron Hall Show”last November, Palmer elaborated on why she initially kept the relationship private — and why she decided to go Instagram official.

“Im really one of those people who very much so like to keep it on the Beyonce tip of just like, you know, keeping everything low-key. But the reality is, it became more difficult to hide,” she said. “We spend all this time together, and he really is my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I’m not gonna hide something that makes me happy.”

Finding Love

Palmer and Hall talked frankly about relationships and independence. “I was raised obviously to be very independent, and you don’t have to have a relationship. And I often tell my friends, it’s okay to say, ‘I want to be in a relationship,'” she added. “I feel like we trick ourselves into saying, ‘I don’t need that’. But there’s nothing wrong with saying, ‘I’d like to have that.'”

“Yeah. And I love that you say that, because I think that definitely — and also this era right now, it’s very much popular to be like, ‘I don’t care’,” she said. “I feel like it gets the point where it does make you feel like you’re not opening yourself up to it. And I think it got to that point for me. I was like, ‘If I’m happy, then why don’t I just be happy? Who am I trying to hide anything from or impress?”
